Belgian singer Angèle has shared a new single, “Love Triangle,” featuring Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn. The track arrives ahead of her third album, Instinct, which is due for release on October 16 via Angèle VL Records and Sony Music, according to Stereogum’s coverage of the release.
A Collaboration-Heavy Rollout
“Love Triangle” follows several earlier singles from the album. Angèle has already released “What You Want,” a collaboration with the French duo Justice, as well as “Dis-le” and “Une seule vie.” The new song adds two more names to the campaign, with Polachek contributing as a featured artist and SebastiAn handling the production side of the sound.
The Sound of the Song
Stereogum describes SebastiAn’s beat on the track as sleazy and zippy, and compares it to the sound of Britney Spears’ Blackout era. The outlet says the production gives the song a hedonistic energy that matches its subject matter. It characterizes “Love Triangle” as a threesome anthem, and notes that bringing two collaborators onto a song with that theme is a fitting choice.
The publication framed the single as a demonstration of Angèle’s growing profile, writing that the singer is on the rise and showing star power with the release.
What’s Next
Instinct is scheduled to arrive next month and will be Angèle’s third full-length album. With “Love Triangle,” the rollout now includes four singles, a mix of French-language titles and collaborations with established names in electronic and alternative pop. Listeners can stream the new single now, and the full album is set to follow on October 16.
